August Wrap Up

August Wrap Up

OH MY GOSH HOW IS IT SEPTEMBER ALREADY?? It was a busy month. You know, summer was busy (always), but August felt like an ramp up already of schedules and things.

Zach started the month with a work trip to San Antonio. I spent a couple of Saturday's in Ames. I ended the month with a work trip to Las Vegas

In between! I got to spend time in our new church! Our church planted a new church in the Drake Neighborhood. It's an amazing old building that has sat empty and unkept for decades, so TLC it required.

It is full swing now and amazingly, already packed with people! I made Zach a back to school photo on the first Sunday.

I went to a baseball game!! I try and go to one every summer. I crave that beer, hotdog, and sweat. My work is so sweet and built a team baseball day into our summer schedule this year :)

I have spent many quality evenings either walking or running! Soaking up that mild weather before it passes :(

I LOVE the feeling of being able to walk a couple of blocks and wind up downtown or by the lake! Des Moines is the best.

Paige gets married soon!! It's been awhile since I have been at a shower haha. And in true Paige fashion, we wore dresses and hats.

I only watched the Olympics once?? I mean, snippets more than once. But, sat down and tuned in, only one evening. Court and Log made us olympic torches!

It seems like Des Moines popped open five hundred new restaurants this month!!

Speaking of, the new ice cream shop in the old Hole in the Wall?! I am going this weekend at some point.

My friends and I had after work snacks at Magnolia Wine Kitchen downtown on night! My personal review was double yay on the bourbon milk and cookies, but nay on the BMAO cocktail...

The food was all pretty standard good, nothing WILD.

I am already slipping into the chai tea latte palate of the fall. It has been my retreat from busy work days this month. My boss is the actual kindest and brought me an early morning latte!

Secondly, my afternoon desk treat as been the mint Simply Gum? Anyone, anyone?

Intrigued by the packaging and held fast by the old school flavor, I think it shall become an office staple.

Previously mentioned, busy work month turned into busy work week in Las Vegas.

And then I stepped off of the plane at 11:00PM to find Zach waiting for me :) Always always the sweetest surprise. And we stayed up late catching up on the porch! It's amazing to me how much happens in a week in both of our lives.

He took the day off and we finally got to stop into La Mie Express!! That egg mash?! Amazing.

HI SEPTEMBER. You are packed with weekend getaways! And I cannot wait.
