Sharing experiences both far away and right at home

Fall Details: Pleasant Street Apartment

Fall Details: Pleasant Street Apartment

Zach and I moved in with a dining table, a queen bed, and a bunch of clothes. We both lived with master furnishers before we got married, so we took our time carefully filling our bare apartment this summer and fall.

We agreed that spring and summer call for minimal as you're always running in and out, but rugs, textiles, and details get to rule fall and winter (YESSSSSSSS!!)

I finally got some time on Saturday to snap a few photos of our current living space this fall.

Starting with this amazing couch from CB2. As proclaimed before, Zach is a master craigslister ;)

It quite honestly pulled our little apartment together. We had one couch, a coffee table and two eames rockers before. And I never quite felt comfortable or cozy in the living room.

Josef has been Zach's wing man since week 2 of our marriage. He will produce all the oxygen we need this winter.

There are different fall colored pillows I would probably pick over this one, but it came with me from college and every couch needs a couple of pillows in the cold months. Zach is the best and lets me keep it there, although he considers it an eye sore. Picking our battles over here!

The Spaids brought us this amazing map of Florence from their honeymoon!!! It fits into our neglected IKEA frame and sits on our credenza. If you ever want to hear stories of alleys, apartments, and castles we encountered in the city, come over and I'll point out everything.

Our credenza gets crazy real fast during the week, so this little mail filer and pumpkins help keep me feeling fall.

Our table also gets crazy. But we usually have a good pantry of fall veggies that we cook on the weekends out in the middle.

Our dining room is backed by pretty windows and our drink bar and coffee bar.

We treat ourselves with a chemex every morning before work! We have been getting weekly packages of Slate Coffee. Our friends also bring us bags of coffee from various trips and cities as well :)

We have found the perfect fall winter Hot Toddy! We have kept all the mixing on hand for visitors (mostly us).

The solarium/porch has the newest windows in the apartment and surprisingly hasn't been too cold to enjoy--if you have been in our apartment, you know this is my favorite room. I've been topping most of our surfaces with candles and neutral or metallic details this fall.

The preciously mentioned masculine/feminine candle we picked up in Minneapolis sits proudly atop our coffee table! It is both fully enjoyed and carefully regimented when it is lit. It is seriously an amazing smell, and I want it to last foreevvverrrrer.

Last stop on the rotational tour through the rooms in our apartment that is in my mind as I'm writing this, is our bedroom!

As everything else, I've thrown a candle on my bedside table alongside my jewelry.

I found this print online and it's a good reminder as I wake up and slowly pull myself out of bed. God has given me more grace than I can bring myself to fathom.

“Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. We have also obtained access through Him by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.”--‭‭Romans‬ ‭5:1-2‬ ‭

I am so young and things easily pull my attention aside and affect my emotions and cause me to be selfish quite often throughout my day. I hope that every day, I will be humbled a little more than the day before to see this grace from the Lord.

Fall tabletops and piled textures make me feel cozy and settled. Come over already!
